Default First Offense In New York, Second Offense 10 Years Ago In New Jersey

When you go to court will they ask you your occupation, and can you say you're not employed at the moment if you would rather not say. And usually will the courts of NY plea you down without an attorney? Say a misedormeanor A to a B or C? Can you wrap up a case during your first appearance? Or will it drag out? Are there any places in NY to attend before court to show the judge your attempting to change? NYC area

If you want to know the practices and procedures of a particular court and prosecutor's office, your best bet is to consult a local lawyer.

If you are asking if it is okay to lie in court, I never recommend lying in court.

If you would rather not say where you work you can always say your occupation, If you are a stripper and are embarrassed about it or are worried that some lawyers are clients and might recognize you out of all the makeup, just say you are a dancer.

Whatever you do, do not lie. That conjours up a whole list of things that you don't want to deal with...

I know what I wrote, thats why I was asking. I sat in a court room yesterday and the judge never inquired but the attorney added what the defendent did for a living only if it would enhance their client and make them look good.
