    Angry Served Subpoena Today

    Hi all,

I need some advice. I use to live in Chicago but now I'm in the suburbs. A man from a law firm gave my wife the subpoena for me. It says a judgement was issued for me on May 3, 1999 for $525.00. The balence due now is $949.39. The subpoena does not state what caused the amount to be what it is. The only thing I can think of is I got a ticket for parking on a residencial street near the high school I was teaching at. I wrote a letter contesting the ticket and a hearing officer overturned the ticket. Of course I have no proof of that now. What can I do? Is it too late for the city to file this. This is of course the first time I've ever heard any of this. No letters, nothing from the city. Any advice?

Forgot to mention, the Plaintiff is City of Chicago - Administrative Hearings, they are the ones who do traffic tickets.

You have to find out what the court action is about. If in fact it is about a ticket you've paid, submit your proof of payment.
