I need some advice. I use to live in Chicago but now I'm in the suburbs. A man from a law firm gave my wife the subpoena for me. It says a judgement was issued for me on May 3, 1999 for $525.00. The balence due now is $949.39. The subpoena does not state what caused the amount to be what it is. The only thing I can think of is I got a ticket for parking on a residencial street near the high school I was teaching at. I wrote a letter contesting the ticket and a hearing officer overturned the ticket. Of course I have no proof of that now. What can I do? Is it too late for the city to file this. This is of course the first time I've ever heard any of this. No letters, nothing from the city. Any advice?
