Okay so here is the situation. I am 20 years old and my little brother is 17 and was recently busted with a bunch of his friends at a bonfire. He was able to get a ride home before he was cited there. However, his idiot friend ratted him out to the cop and told him our address and that he (my brother) had bought the beer with a fake id. The cop came to our house and found my brother outside, breathalyzed him and cited him for an mip.
Then he asked to see the id, and my brother showed it to him. The problem was, it was my boyfriends old id. He had lost it last year and I found it at our parents house under the couch. I was fighting with him at the time, and told my brother to give it back to him because I didn't want to see him, which is what my brother told the officer. They have video of him at the store purchasing the beer. I don't think myself or my boyfriend will get in trouble, because he reported the id missing and i didn't give it to my brother with the intent for him to use it to buy alcohol for his idiot friends. My parents are pissed and I am really worried about what is going to happen to him. Does anyone know the consequences for something like this and have advice?
