    Default Pennsylvania, Res-igning Paperwork?

    Here's a question:

My girlfriend just traded an '02 Jetta for an '03 Xterra. A co-worker was in need of a vehicle, so my girlfriend offered it to her at the trade price the dealership was offering my girlfriend. They both went to the dealership to sign the paper-work. She signed all the proper documents and whatnot, the Xterra is hers. The dealership said they were required by law to inspect the trade before the third party picked it up. Fine, that makes sense.

Well, the 'friend' decided the next day that she no longer wanted the Jetta.

Now the dealership wants her to come back and resign paper-work with different figures?

    I don't get it.

The Jetta was being sold to the third party for $6000 but the trade in value was $4700. Can they resubmit paper-work like that?

I must've been drunk when I posted that! I don't even understand it. Let me re-word it:

My girlfriend wanted to trade her Jetta on an Xterra. Fine. I work at a Nissan dealership. The retail price of the Xterra was 12.9k and the retail trade value of the Jetta was 6k. She owed 3.5k on the Jetta. Since I work there I was given the 'employee' or wholesale price of the Xterra at 10.5k and the wholesale trade value of the Jetta at 4.7k.

Meanwhile, a co-worker of the girlfriend was in dire need of an automobile and agreed to purchase the Jetta at the retail trade value of 6k. Our dealership informed her that in these 'courtesy sales' we'd have to inspect the vehicle and that she could take delivery of the Jetta the following day. She agreed to come back the next day with her 6k and change. My girlfriend signed all her paperwork and took her Xterra home. Wee!

In that 24 hour period the co-worker decided she didn't want the Jetta. Now the dealership is requesting we re-sign and re-submit the paperwork with the original wholesale trade value of 4.7k.

Can they do that? It may seem like a stupid question, but they have our Jetta and will most likely wind up selling it on the lot. I'm just trying to look-out for the girlfriend.
