I get aggravated when a parent says "I don't want support from him/her". 1st of all, that won't sway the judges ruling. It's not like if the judge is on the fence and he thinks "welllllllll, Mom doesn't have to pay support", oh what the hell, yeah, that's the deal breaker. Congrats dad!"
It's sad, but some attorney's will advise their father clients to not ask for CS- makes me sick. I know of one case in FL right now where the father was given custody, had temp custody for a year, and his attorney REFUSED to file for temp CS from the mother. Dad was advised to file on his own, believe it or not his attorney threatened to drop him if he did that! I've also seen it happen in other cases, I just don't understand why anyone would think that a mother should be exempt from financially supporting her child just because she gave birth to the child.
