Default Statute Of Limitations In Tennessee

My husband has a 13-14- year debt on a"consumer loan" debt colector calling, stating trying to settle, stated debt 14,500, then settle went down to 7,000, 4,000, then 2000 is this legal. This is not the original creditor. What is the SOL in TN?

Your husband is being pestered by a junk debt collector. Yes, these vermin are legal, but you're not powerless against them.

The statute of limitations on contracts and open accounts in Tennessee is 6 years.

Send 'em a drop dead letter.

Agreed. Do not talk to them and whatever you do, do not pay anything on this debt and do not agree that you owe it. Dispute it in every way. Dispute that you are even talking to them.
