Emancipation Dealing With Abuse

i live in kansas and i've been wondering for about a year now but haven't done anything yet if i could get emancipated.. i'm seventeen years old, i've been working on and off but plan to be employed again soon. in the past but not as much lately a parent abuses me but i don't want to get them into any trouble i just want to get out of the house and become independent. i know i have a place to stay and i'm willing to work for the money i need.. i just rather live independently and not be put in a foster home. what would i need to do? any advice is wanted.

There's no point even thinking about it until you have gotten and kept a job that pays you sufficiently to support yourself. That means rent, food, clothes, transportation, medical care, internet connection, school supplies, utiliites, telephone, insurance, and all kinds of things that kids never think of.

When you have that job, come back and talk to us then. Hint: Staying with someone else is NOT emancipation.
