    Default Colorado Emancipation

Hi, ok well i'm 17 and will be 18 in november. I guess i should give a condenced version of what is going on. Ok so i hav a boyfriend that i have been going out with for one and a half years now. My parents never let us see eachother. They also treat me like i am about 12. I thought things would get better when i turned 17 but they are getting worse. Everyone is constantly fighting @ my house. So i want to get emancipated so i can live on my own & be able just to be normal. I know i have the responsability, i have had a steady job since i was 15 and never have been in a bunch of trouble. I know i wont be able to get my parents to sign any papers though. They reported me as a runaway when i had only been gone for 3 hours. so my question is how do you show that you are capable of living on your own and have a place to live besides your parents when you cant leave there without being emancipated to begin with? And i was wondering if anyone knowsthe approx time frame for Emancipation.
Also if your reported as a runnaway what happens if you wont go back home?

and yes i have read the below....

    Quoting Colorado Code 19-1-103. Definitions

You leave WITH your parents permission. If you don't have that, you don't leave home. And if that means you don't get emancipated, then you don't get emancipated. Emancipation is not a right. It is a privilege that is granted only on very rare occasions, based on NEED, not want.

Also if your reported as a runnaway what happens if you wont go back home?

Does Juvy ring any bells with you?

If you think any judge is going to emancipate you because your parents won't let you see your boyfriend, then you don't understand what emancipation is for. It is not, and never was, designed to allow teens to leave home. It is for the purpose of providing legal protections to kids who, through no fault of their own, found themselves living on their own.

I know whats next. "Then how do I become emancipated?" Answer you dont then. Emancipation is not meant to be easy and was designed for teems through no fault of their founf themselves in a position of self support. Thus emancipation provides them with the legal rights they will need
