Default Divorced, College Student, One child - What Tax Forms Do I Need?

I am a divorced mother of a 5-year old kid. I will claim him on my tax return.
I am a full time student and work. I got scholarship and pell grant at the college.
At work I made about 6,000$ in 2007.
    Which tax forms should use?
Do I understand correctly that I will ge earned income credit? What other credits or benefits I could apply for on my tax return or additionally?

    I'm NOT a tax professional...

But from what I figure, unless there is additional info you have left out, such as alimony which is taxable income, you'll file a Schedule 1040A and Schedule EIC.

You won't owe any tax with an income that low, so the Child Tax Credit will have no effect as there is no tax to reduce, and you don't make enough to qualify for the Additional Child Tax Credit. You will however still be entitled to a refund of any taxes withheld, plus the Earned Income Credit(Schedule EIC).

    Forms and instructions you'll need:
