    Default Applying For Citizenship

I first came to US in 1998 and stayed here on Student visa for couple of years and then filed for I-130 F2B since my mother become US citizen in 2003 and I applied and got change of status so now I am a permanent resident (As shown in Green Card - Resident Since 07/29/04).
My question is can I apply for citizenship since I have been here a little less than 10 years, or do I have to wait till next year to apply.
