Statutory Rape In Florida

I will explain my situation. I am 20 years old and my girlfriend is 17. Her mother found out how old i was and she said if i ever go near her again she will get me for statutory rape. Though i know the law in Florida im pretty positive she couldnt get me in trouble for that because 16 is the age of concent. She is a paralegal and said she can get me one way or another. Through loop holes and what not. My question is, is there any possible way she can get me for statutory rape and what loop holes if any could she get me with?

Not for statutory rape.

However, you have to remember she is a minor and her parents' set the rules.

I was pretty sure about the statutory rape. but what else could there be? is there anything she can get me in trouble for?

Until her daughter is 18, she can get a restraining order against you so that ANY form of contact with her daughter can result in arrest (and all the wonderful problems that having a criminal record for the rest of your life can bring).

What if she doesnt get a restraining order is there anything else that could possibly happen to me?

You just dont give up do you? It is not wise or safe to continue your relationship against her parents wishes. If they seek a protective order they will get it. If you violate it you go to jail! If you have sent sexual emails, texts, pictures or recieved you could b ein violation of Federal law! Not to mention the age difference could make your realtionship unawful as well. Lets not forget contributing as possible charge as well. Do you want a life registration as sex offender or a criminal conviction for other charges. All of which could hamper your job search college plans etc!? Is all this worth it!?

By the way, let's pretend for a moment that you did start sleeping with the child when she was 16.

You do realize, of course, that you are on the hook for the next several years, right? That all she has to do is pick up the phone and say, "yea, I didn't know it at the time, but this guy had sex with me at 16 and I want to testify."

How does it feel to know you have put your future in the hands of a child? I wouldn't hack her off if I was you. Ever.
