First of all, thanks in advance for the help and apologies if this post is long-winded.
The woman I hoped to be married to shortly is an illegal immigrant. Her papers were purchased for her by her grandfather when she was very young, under the presumption that the individual to whom those papers belonged was deceased.
It has recently been discovered that this is not the case, and now after MANY years, said individual has actually managed to contact my fiancee and inform her that the "authorities have been notified," (whatever that may or may not mean).
My fiancee has two very young, very beautiful children (I am not the father), and no criminal history.
Given all of this, and setting aside for the moment the morality of her entry into this country, what is her/our best course of action if the ultimate goal is for her to achieve the ability to remain or return to the US permanently so that we can remain together and her kids can grow up here?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I'd love to do a ton of research on this myself to avoid asking what may seem like stupid questions, but I really feel like my time for action may be limited.
Thanks again.
