Default Can I Pay Somebody Else's Taxes

My aunt owes some back property taxes, but she doesn't have the money to pay them. Could I pay them for here since I have all the information?

The odds are slim that there would be any reason to refuse to accept payment.

Okay BlueE, I'll let you pay the tax on my taxable unearned income (alimony). If it works out, I'll certainly let you know and you can then feel very safe and comfortable paying the delinquent taxes for your aunt.

I'll pass but thanks anyway. The tax records are stored online in a database. I have obtained the property description, statement number, account number, year owed, amount owed, not the address. I am just trying to ascertain if this online statement will suffice when I mail them the check.

Have you called the county clerk to ask for an exact figure needed to bring the account to current?

Curious why you wouldn't just give her the money and let her pay them herself?

Because I want to make sure she uses it for taxes and not her cigarette addiction.
