I got into a car accident and my license was suspended by the judge for 2 years, yet it has been 4 months and i the dmv says it is still active. Would i still be able to drive without legal ramifications?

No way to tell. Usually you are supposed to turn your license over to the clerk of court. It just depends on when the paperwork clears. Be sure that the DMV has your current address so you will receive the notification.
It depends on the state, and on the transmission of paperwork. In CA I understand that the state took away the ability of the court to ORDER the DMV to suspend a license. So, instead, they act on their own accord when/if they receive the order of conviction from the court. While it's possible the DMV might disagree with the court on the suspension, it's more likely that the paperwork never made it to the DMV ... yet. Your state likely has a similar process whereby the DMV waits for paperwork from the court, so the same miscommunication and delay can occur almost anywhere.
As Lwpat suggested, make sure the DMV has your current info.

well i swerved to avoid a car and hit a tree where my friend died, the car i avoided was a retired police officer and he sped off and he didnt even get a citation or anything and yet i was pinned with vehicular manslaughter, i qwas charged as a juvinile and it came ot negligen homicide and reckless driving with 6 months in a program, i was released because my mother died a couple of weeks ago and my father is disabled and on disability qand i have a little sister, i went to the dmv to check on my liscense and they said it was active when it shoudl take about a week to get to them yet its been 4 months, this is in florida. Would the police use a different system from the dmv? and is there any way for me to be able to drive before the 2 years because my father needs me to drive.
