When I was 18 I was arrested for possession of alcohol by a minor in GA. I am a teacher now. For my teacher certification application and the application of the county I now work there is a question that asks if I've ever been charged or convicted of felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude. I answered no because poss by minor does not involve moral turpitude. I'm now applying for a new county and the question states have you ever been charged/convicted of misdemeanor or felony excluding minor traffic offenses. The application states that they would have access even to records that have been sealed or expunged. Now, I've never requested for my record to be sealed/expunged, but I've had a background check from the police dept. And it says for GCIC and NCIC "No record on file."
My question is should I disclose this info on the application therefore possibly deterring the potential employer. Or, should I just assume that this information wouldn't be found and answer no to the question?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
