Default Moving from Ohio to Florida - Marriage and Emancipation

I am only 17 and I moved from Ohio to Florida to live with my boyfriend but my mom reproted me as a runaway up in Ohio and I got into trouble and got picked up and they droped the runaway charge and now my mom wants me to move back home and I don't want to. i don't get a long with my step-dad and we move all the time I hate it at her house and I can't go live with my dad because he is in prision and I have no contact order with him. I now want to get an emancipation so I don't have to move back in with my mom, but I am also pregnant now too. My boyfriend and I want to get married before the baby is due but my mom won't sign for us to do that. So since I am 17 and if I get married will I be emanipated then, or does my mom have to sign the papers?

Default Marriage as a Means of Emancipation

If you enter into a lawful marriage, you would be emancipated under Ohio law (unless you divorce before you are 18, in which case you will revert to being under the control of your parents). There may be a possibility of getting court approval for a marriage, even if your mother objects, depending upon where you are.

    Default ok more questions

My boyfriend and I are getting an apartment in Florida because that is where we are liveing now. My mom has know where I am for the last 4 months since I have been here but she hasn't done anything about it. So can I prove her as an unfit mother and emacipate that way? My boyfriend and I would realy like ot be a family before the baby is born, I have talked to my mom and she keeps saying no. Can I go to the courts down here and pettion to get married with out my mom permission? If I can do that then would it be a lawful marriage adn would I be emancipated then?

    Default Marriage in Florida

You would need a written statement that you are pregnant issued by a licensed physician, and then can petition a court in Florida to permit you to marry.
