I am going to be filing a Defamation suit against someone and I have been looking into how to do it. I understand how I need to prove it, but what I am not sure about is the "damages" part. I really just want this women to "pay" for what she did because this is not the first time she has done this to me. I read on a page that this is what I can do:
*compensatory damages – how do I determine this amount?
*an injunction to stop further publication
*a correction or a retraction
I*n certain cases a plaintiff might also be awarded punitive (or "exemplary") damages, which are intended not to compensate the plaintiff but to punish a defendant who has acted in flagrant disregard of the plaintiff’s rights. - this is what I am most interested in and wondering how I go about coming up with this number
Also, can I sue for all 4 of them?
