    Post Roommate Deposit

one of roommates told me that he was moving out on the day he moved out, totally blindsiding me. And he never told the manager either. He moved out 15 days before the end of the month and he hasn't returned the keys yet either. Even after he has moved out, he has kept coming into the apartment, leaving notes about his deposit and going into the mail box to check to see if there is mail there for him.

I am still living in the apartment.

Does he deserve to get back his deposit or does he forfeit his right to a deposit.

Are you his landlord? If you're not his landlord, the issue of his deposit is going to be largely up to the landlord. If he owes you rent, you can sue him in small claims court.
