Is there a way to find a will, if one was made, by my father or his second wife. Probably, if done, was years ago. They lived in Jersey.

Are they deceased? If so, there should be a file in the probate court of the county in which they lived. The court will forward you a copy for a small fee.
That is, if the will was probated.
I would also recommend placing a call to their attorney.
There was no will probated for sure, I know because we are looking for one. My father died. My step mother was taken to California byher son and declared incompetent. She does have dementia and doesnt remember doing a will but I know there were investigating getting one in 1997. I was wondering if there was a central place to look for wills.
There is no central place for filing of wills. Usually they are kept with other important papers or retained by the attorney. Someone needs to start probate in the county where he lived. Take an original of the death certificate to the probate court. The clerk can give you the forms you need to file but cannot provide any legal advice.
