Default Forced To Sign Contract Without A Walkthrough

Florida- I was supposed to be staying in an apartment a few months ago. My parents actually signed the lease without actually seeing the apartment. We decided I was not going to live there. We received notice we were being sued, and had to repay the money owed. If we were forced to sign without first seeing the apartment, could we have a course of action to void the contract?

What do you mean by "forced"?

We had to sign the contract before being able to see the apartment.

You were not allowed to view the apartment? Or you didn't have a chance to?

That's what I gathered from your other thread.

Your parents signed a legally binding contract. Now that you have decided not to rent from that landlord, it doesn't resolve that issue.

Whether they will be successful at winning a judgement of $5000 will be left up to the evidence and what the committee decides.

Have you looked into Legal Aid? Possibly your parents would qualify for that and they could be helpful in settling this issue fairly.
