    Default What Happens When Someone Is Charged

    I don't understand what a charge is, what's the difference between a charge and a sentence?

    when you're sentenced by the court to be on probation and do community service, is that not a charge?

    what actually is a charge and what happens and what does it do?

    This is getting close to spam you have so many threads. Acharge is what crime your accussed of thats your charge. Example "shoplifting" is a charge. Your sentence is final outcome of a guilty verdict or plea. Example life in prisonment

    when a charge is dismissed does that mean it won't go on a record?

    There can still be a record of the charge and the disposition (the dismissal).
