Default Changing from J1 to F1

I am currently holding a J1 visa status, and planning to change my status to F1. I was looking at the required documents and i was shocked to see that there's a difference between my visa stamp and DS-2019. My visa stamp says that I am entitled to the 2 year residency, and my DS-2019 states that I'm not. NOW, Im so confused which to follow. Please help!

I came from the Philippines, and I am currently finishing my second year as an au pair. I really enjoy studying here in the US. Hope that you can give me some knowledge about this confusion I have in mind. Thank YOU

What do you mean by "I am entitled to the 2 year residency"?

on my passport, there is a note that states "the bearer is entitled to two year residency home requirement"; however, in my DS-2019, there is no check mark beside the 2 year residency requirement.

im confused now. Do I need to go back to my home country and stay there for 2 years or can i change my status from j1 to f1 here in the US?

If you are subject to the two-year home residency requirement, and it is not waived, you have to reside outside of the U.S. for two years before you will again be eligible for a visa.
