    Default Garnishment order

Last week I visited the Dept. of Revenue and explained to them that my son is no longer in his dad's custody, but instead he is living in another state with his grandparents and his Aunt and Uncle will be given Legal Guardianship. The final hearing is Oct. 20th.

On Friday I got a letter from the DOR saying they were going to garnish my wages 42.00 a week or something like that.

My first paycheck is only for one day and it's only going to be about 40bucks. They can't take the whole check from me can they?

    Default Garnishment

Your employer may be able to answer that question - whether they were served with the wage garnishment order, and what they will do given the size of your check.
