Default How Could A Life Tenant Mortgage A Home

My father died (Nevada) and left a life estate to his wife of 8 years. He owned the home jointly with me when he died - and she was never on the deed. Now, after probate the home is recorded as she (life estate) and I. However, I have just seen a new deed recorded that a loan or mortgage was taken out. the home has been paid for - could she had done this without my approval. I have not spoken to her in years and I also am not sure if she has maintained insurance or taxes - but I believe she has. I have no idea where to begin. thanks

Contact an attorney and let him research the title and taxes.
