Caught Shoplifting At Macy's Florida

I was caught shoplifting a $35 bracelet at Macy's. They took me to the back made me sign a bunch of forms and called the cops. I wasn't arrested and brought to the station but, I was issued a NTA (Notice to Appear) The police said it was the same as being arrested though. I do not have a record and have never been in trouble before. Should I be worried? Since this is my first offense I am worried and nervous and I am not sure what to do or what to expect. Can someone please give me some advice on what I should do. Should I hire a lawyer? What should I expect to happen next? Will Macy's ask for a fine on top of the fine from the courts? Please help so, I can get some sleep!!!!
