    Default Transfer on Death Instructions

    Hello,

My father (who was of sound mind up until his death) had his Edward Jones account put in a T.O.D and it was put in my name before he died and I was wondering if that goes through probate.

As of right now, my nephews are contesting the will itself. Can a T.O.D be contested or is the Edward Jones account mine? I just want to know that it is 100% safe.

    Thanks

Default Transfer on Death Instruction / Investment Account

As the account has a designated beneficiary, they probably pass outside of the estate and thus would not be affected by the contest. You can check with the lawyer for the estate to confirm that this is the case.
