Default Probation Violation Before Seeing Probation Officer

First and foremost, up until the time that I was arrested in the following statement I have never been pulled over, tickted or in trouble with the law in anyway whatsoever.

DiIn May of this year I went into a diabetic coma while driving...I pulled over and checked my blood sugar and then all I know is that a day and a half later I woke up in jail. I was sitting eating something then someone called my name and my spouse was there to take me home. Everything that I owned, purse, jewlery; necklaces, a 15k engagement ring and wedding band, earrings, everything.....gone. My purse and everything was also missing. I never saw anything again. Evidently in the field I was ohysically unable to do the breathalizer.....I did however pass 2 urine drug screens and 5 breathalizers once I go to the jail. (I literally remember NOTHING)............the charges were eventually dropped to non alcohol/drug related wreckless driving. So basically wreckless driving.

Court was over on December 13th and when I left I was on 6 months probation and a 250 dollar fine. I was ordered to see my NEW probation officer on the 15th of January. I HAVE NOT SEEN HER YET.

I thought that when court was over that my license had been returned to me. WRONG! Evidently since I refused the actual FIELD breathalizer my license was automatically suspended for a year through the Florida DMV laws.

Now, last Friday I was driving from the Ronald McDonald house where I had been staying to the hospital to see my daughter (she just had brain surgery) and was having complications......they called me and said "get here, now"....I got pulled over because my plates had expired that day and I hadnt had time to put the new stickers on........I WENT TO JAIL FOR SUSPENDED LICENSE!

Why didnt I get a "violation of probation"? Is it because I have not met with my probation officer yet? Will I go to jail the day I go to meet with her? Will I go to jail for violation of probation when I go in front of the judge for the suspended license thing that I went to jail for last Friuday night? I am so scared......mostly because I am a diabetic who is also on dialysis 3 times a week because my kidneys are shot. (Back in May, the poolice didnt care about any of that, you know, during my DUI arrest and when I left the jail I went straight to the hospital where I stayed for 9 days).

Had I known about the automatic suspension for a year, or had even seen my tickets (cuase someone stole everything from me at the jail) I would have appealled that..i had NO IDEA!

Anywa, Im scared to death that I am going to go to jail....

    Should I lawyer up?

Also, the recent arrest occured in a different county....

Please help, Im an old lady with big time medical problems and some serious anxiety over the law!
