Talking Caught With Marijuana At The U.S.-Canada Border

I am a Canadian , living in Canada, who in 1980 was found to have 1 gram of marijuana on me while i was crossing into Michigan , at the US /Canada border. I was pulled into secondary inspection and the item was found. There was no court, no jail , no fingerprints, no judge. I was fined $35.00 and sent back to Canada. I have been told i have an ADMINISTRATION PENALTY against me. I am admissable to the US but i get hassled when i cross over. I have also been told that i do not need a waiver, but yet the hassles continue.
Can this 'incident ' be expunged ? Is this Federal or local ?
I truly believe that the US border guards have much better things to do , than waste time on me
please let me know Barnacle Bill

You can't expunge an incident that didn't result in charges. Nor would the USCIS much care if you found a way - it would remain in their records.

regarding being caught at the US /Canada border with 1 gram of marijuana in 1980
Is there any way to get this episode erased off the computer screen at the border? I do not have a criminal record and i AM admissable to the US , They told me i do not need a waiver, but yet i still get pulled into secondary inspection for 'questioning' when i cross over. Is there any thing that can be done about this.? barnacle bill
