    Default I Want To Move Out

    im 16 and will be 17 on the 13th of jan. i live in new york state with my parents but wanna move out. i dont get along with my parents to well and my dad can get pritty agressive with me at times.i have a place to live and there will be plenty of money for food and cloths for me. its a fit house but the only thing is, is that ive looked into alot of things about emanstipation and keep getting different things. my parents will never let me move out untill im 18 but i cant take anymore of the constant screaming. i will be still going to school untill i graduate and plan to go to collage. is there anyway that i can get some help on what i my parents cant do. and what i can do im desprite

    Vbabe, emancipation is about being able to be independent and self-supportive. Since nothing in your posts indicates that that is what you will be able to do, emancipation is not an option.

    If things are really getting difficult for you at home, I will suggest you talk these problems out with a school counselor.

    Note that emancipation laws are different in each state.

    i have a car and i pay my own..im getting my car put under my own name and will be no longer depending on my parents. right now im am looking for a full time job and when i do i plan on paying rent with 2 roomates. money is not a problem for me right now but i am looking for a fulltime job witch is kinda hard bc i am still in highschool but i have alot of connections so..how would it be possible for me to be emansipated in new york state

    NY has no statute for process making an already difficult process more so. also the time to seek emancipation (if possible) is after you get the job not before. As noted emancipation is about self support with no current job you cannot do so
