Default Help for a domestic violence victim

I married my husband 4 1/2 years ago and have been separated on and off for he duration. He refused to have any joint assests until it came time to file for his Green Card and was hostile and emotionally unavailable for the entire marriage. He was arrested prior to getting his green card but went to counseling and promised it would get better. We got back together and he received his green card. Two days later he told me he wanted to leave me. He stayed 3 more weeks until I finally could not take it anymore and told him to leave. A week ago, he came to the state that I now reside in separate from him. He assaulted me again and now has a warrant out for his arrest and has a protection order pending. I do not know where he is living in NY and am afraid that he is going to come after me again. Is there ANY way that I can have his green card revoked and have him deported from the US before he comes after me and seriously hurts or kills me? I am not financially able to hire an immigration attorney due to my having to hire a divorce attorney to try to hurry and get out of this marriage.

Default Getting a Green Card Revoked

You can report your situation to the USCIS, but ultimately it will be up to them to decide what they do with the information and whether to act against your husband.

    Dear Surfgirl,

In general, domestic violence is a ground for one's deportation/removal fom the U.S. Also, if you prove that he entered into the marriage only for immigration benefits, it may cost him his Green Card. Until one is a citizen, he is subject to very harsh immigration laws...

You should at least consult with an immigration lawyer re your conduct.

    Best regards and keep safe.
