Hello all i came here hopefully looking for some answers. My son who is 18 was fired from his job at sears 2 weeks ago because he had a hat in a bag without a receipt after hours.
Heres what he told me. one night as work was over he had a baseball cap in a bag as he was walking toward the doors to exit the store as the Sears Lp lead stopped him to see the receipt for the item. But he was extremely nervous and stumble over his words so the LP lead asked him if he had payed for the hat and my son told him that he had forgotten to pay for and offered to pay for it right then. I think my son was trying to take it but got caught. But he only thing was he hadn't left the store yet.
So the next day he went in to work to talk to the LP district manager where from what he told me is that the Lp guy used some slick word to some how get him to confess to wanting to take the hat. also he told me that they made him sign a statement saying that he was not forced to write the statement explaining what happened that night. so then they made him sign a form saying that he would pay the 18 dollars for the hat. after that was done he asked the LP manager what will happen next. apparently they weren't charging him with anything because the cops where never called but they where going to add his name to some list to all the retailers.
so my real question is what is going to happen because the cops weren't called.
Thanks for any help in advance
