Default Salaried Exempt Employee In Military Reserve

Ok- I work as a salaried exempt employee for a federal contractor. I don't work under the contract- I work directly for the contractor as an executive managing the contractor, thus I hire, terminate, etc employees so I know I am a salaried exempt employee. So my first question-when I have to take off from work for my military Reserve time- the company can choose to not pay me for the time that I am absent from work even though I am salaried? Correct? In other words they are allowed to deducted the hours I'm not there from my pay?

Second question- if the company will reimburse me the difference between my military time pay and regularly paid company time, should it not be based off of my military base pay? They also include my BAH and BAS in the differential and I do not think that is correct. I am paid off of base pay with my company so in my opinion they should compensate me off of my military base pay.

    Any help I'd appreciate.
    Thanks,
    April in Florida

Generally speaking, when an employer pays you more than your military wage it does so voluntarily, and thus provides the additional compensation in accord with its own policies.
