My 16 yo son was arrested and charged with four felony B charges in NYS. He was followed and watched by undercover and was arrested 1 month after the felonious sales took place. He has no priors, was addicted to opiates at the time and is now in recovery and doing well. I retained a criminal lawyer but not sure what he's looking at. Typically, no priors would he be tried as youthful offender? Would charges be decreased to misdemeanors. They want him to set up a buy for the police so they can get the supplier. Won't have him do that. More importantly the felony complaint charge noted the amount of the sale not the weight - isn't that unusual as they charge according to weight not money transacted? He did sign a statement admitting to these two transactions as he was scared and wanted to cooperate. What is the experience rating of this type of case in NYS. Terrified mom
