Question Payment Made Out To An Employee Instead Of The Business

A customer sent a money order (not fake) for a purchase, made out to the my salesperson instead of the business. I have two simple questions.

    1. Is it legal for me to require the salesperson to cash it and turn over the funds to the business?

    2. Is it true that the salesperson owns the money because it was sent to him in his name?

    Thanks to any/all who answer!

This is in payment of an invoice and is money owed to the employer?
