I was 17 years old at the time and I was at a house party that got busted. I had been drinking along with most of the people at the party, when the cops came they said if you have been drinking go in one room, and if you have not then go in another room. I went into the room where the drinkers were, after we got in the room they said that if you are 17 or older go to one side of the room, if your 16 or younger go to one side of the room. There were 3 of us that were at least 17, they let everyone that wasnt drinking going without even taking there information! They took down the kids info that had been drinking but were 16 and younger information but also let them go without any tickets or anything. The took the 3 of us and hit us with huge tickets, 6 months court supervision, and $675 fine. I dont understand how the kids that were 16 and under got off so easily? It didnt make sense to me because everyone there was under 21, why did they get off the hook because they were younger? I am from Illinois if thats any help. Almost a year later I still dont get it and I didnt want to ask the judge or anything at my court date.
