Default Hit A Deer, Resulting In Loss of Car Two Days Later

hey, my name is tyson. i was just wondering about a situation where i hit a deer late at night. my car was running completely fine. after i hit the deer my car started to make very subtle noises when i would change gears and accelerate. now, i didnt file a police report because i hit a deer before in my previous car and my insurance didn't cover it, so i was stuck with getting in a wreck and having to pay for the damage out of my pocket. so, i didn't want to have that happen again. either way, i have pictures of deer hair and such in my car.

anyway, as time progressed through the next 36 hours the car was making the same noise until i was driving home and it began to make the noise much louder. i pulled over and popped my hood to find a small flame under my engine. obviously, my car wouldn't start so i had to get it towed. i should be getting the results of the damage to the engine tomorrow. which, i'm pretty sure te car is considered totaled at this point from what i know. oh, and by the way. the deer caused 2300 in damage outside of what was done to the engine. i haven't said anything to the insurance company yet, either.

basically, my question after getting all the details out there, is will my insurance (GMAC, if it matters) cover the cost of all damages? which would probably include the car being totaled. i still owe 5,000 on the car, which is why i'm so worried. i would assume that if the car didn't work immediately after i hit the deer then i would be ok, but it stopped working 2 days later. and i'm personally certain it was a result of the deer. so, is the fact that the car stopped working 2 day after the fact an issue for me? or will the insurance more than likely cover all damages since it was obvious everything was caused in the collision.

thanks for reading all of that. i'm just a young college student with money issues that's worried to death. haha. thanks a lot, and i look forward to your help.

I would expect that your insurance will cover the loss. Read your insurance policy to see how they would classify the accident, and whether it would be payable under collision coverage or comprehensive coverage.
