We recently discovered a manager had been paying himself way too much bonus. He claims he interpreted his comp. structure one way; we interpreted and intended something quite different.

Needless to say, we've revised the verbiage in the comp. plan, but have audited the payroll for two years, and realize he's been overpaid by more than $8,000.

We need to have this reimbursed and certainly don't want to sue. We will put him on a repayment plan, but am afraid he will 'jump' ship before it is repaid.

I need some suggestions on protecting ourselves to ensure we get this money back.

Thanks!
