    Default Help With Virginia Emancipation

    My anem is Kellie. I am a 15 yr. old girl who lives in Virginia. I really need to get out of my house. My mom is barely working. Her boyfriend is lazy and smokes weed all day. We are going to court at the end of the month to be eveicted from our apartment. ( like our 5th time). My mom wastes all the money that she gets on pills, and weed. My brother is physically abusive towards me. I am the only one doing anything around the house. My life is literally hell. I am looking for a job right now.. and I am sure with the help of my boyfriend ( who has ofered me a place to live and everything I need) I can support my self, and do a whole lot better than my mom is doing. I cant stand to stay there any longer. I am willing to stay until I turn 16, but what do I do after that? I would like to start on this process as soon as possible. Any help would be greatly appricated.

    Default Virginia Emancipation Law

    Virginia's emancipation law provides:
    Quote Quoting Virginia Code § 16.1-331. Petition for emancipation.
    Any minor who has reached his sixteenth birthday and is residing in this Commonwealth, or any parent or guardian of such minor, may petition the juvenile and domestic relations district court for the county or city in which either the minor or his parents or guardian resides for a determination that the minor named in the petition be emancipated. The petition shall contain, in addition to the information required by § 16.1-262, the gender of the minor and, if the petitioner is not the minor, the name of the petitioner and the relationship of the petitioner to the minor.

    I AM A 16 OLD GIRL AND BE 17 AT THE END OF THE MONTH AND I HAVE A 16 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER AND I RAISE HER ALL BY MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER FATHER DON'T HELP ME I SICK OF LIVING WITH MY MOM CAN I GET EMANCIAPATION YET

    Once you get emancipated can you get an apartment on your own? will you recieve financial help from the state or whatever takes care of emancipations?

    B. Why all caps?

    C. Are you sure you can raise your child all by youself?
