Default Caught After A Significant History of Shoplifting

I have been committing numerous acts of grand larceny at a major retainer over the past maybe 5 years. When I say numerous I mean I wouldnt be surprised at all if the value combined is well over $100,000. My problem is I finally was caught. I have done this at multiple cites in my state and this cited happened to be one I had not been to often. The police cited me for larceny in the third degree and let me leave. It has been over 5 months since the incident and I have not been charged. When I call the clerk of court NO information at all comes up when I give them my informaton and even case number. But when I call the states attornies office they have it all right there in front of them. I am very young and have been doing this since I was a kid never really realizing the severity of it until now, its like it became a habit and no big deal. But when I say a lot of value I dont mean I was sticking DVDs down my pants, what I have done is much different. My question is am I being investigated? By Whom? What kind of databases are there that track things like this? What should I do? What are my chances if they come at me hard? How would they go about that? And what kind of punishment is likely if it gets that far? I would rather not be in jail for 15 years, but I guess it's possible. Please someone respond.

It appears as though there is an ongoing investigation and that could take time based on your numerous actions. You should consult with a criminal defense Attorney in preperation of charges
