    Unhappy Potential of Civil Action

Relocated to rural Pennsylvania and spouse is local Correctional Officer currently deployed in Iraq. OCT 2006

Attempting to start Mental Health and Drug/Alcohol Services. Oct 2006
Disassociated with LOCAL NURSE due to confirmation of 2 psychiatric hospitalizations. Feb 2007 Filed/received Articles of Dissolution.

    Reorganization. June 2007

Personal situation (I WAS NOT HER COUNSELOR) of adult teen who stayed at my home for two months who was struggling with an addiction to heroin while attempting to seek treatment. Overdosed in late OCT 2007

Township Supervisor allegedly stated at local meeting, voting booths and at regional council of governments, which are recorded (awaiting copy of minutes) that people are dealing drugs out of my home, I am running an illegal halfway house, and I am a former addict. Please Note:Honorable discharge from Army National Guard September 2007 and licensed professional since 2001, without any reports of negligence. I contacted the State Police immediately after incident, requested they search my home, and go thru phone, computer, etc.. to assist them if it would help in anyway. They thanked me for my cooperation. OCT - Current 2007

I attended a meeting with the County Director of Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol, and Managed Care. I was told that there were "RUMOrS" as stated above and the County Commissioners had called and stated their concerns. NOV 2007

I have $20,000 peronal funds invested, quit my last postion making $60,000.00 and my reputation is ruined, so to speak due to:
    1.) Disassocation of local nurse
2.) Personally helping a young girl, NOT PROFESSIONALLy
3.) Statements I use, assist, and safeguard drug users.

Do i have any recourse since this is a public official?

What economic damages have you suffered as a result of the statements? Note: I'm not asking what you gave up to start your own business, or what you invested in the business.

Economic damages would include local community does not want to be provided services by my agency. $45, 000.00 year lost wages.

Cost of going on interviews for employment, which is a minimum of 1.5 hours away.

Local retailers will not do business with me and I have to drive 35 minutes for many necessities.

My professional license and 6 years of college is now usless.

If you came to me claiming that, my first reaction would be that you're exaggerating your damages. But if that's the case, go ahead and consult a local lawyer about the possibility of bringing a defamation case. It doesn't sound like an easy case, particularly given that you start out with the word 'allegedly' - you need to figure out who said what, when, and to whom.

I am serious that the entire small town now thinks I am a drug user and dealer. I know who stated these accustions in a public forum and recorded but I am trying to be careful.

My personal attorney is the county solicitor and this is a conflict of interest for him since this township is in his county.

Is there a way to search reputable attorneys in pA?
