    Default Taxes and Chapter 13

I reside in Arizona, and recently filed a Chapter 13. After paying on a federal tax debt for three years, and paying it in full, they filed a proof of claim for a tax debt I didn't even know I owed, from 2002. They first informed me of this via the proof of claim, however, today they sent me the paperwork and notice of deficiency. I don't believe I owe it, and will make sure whether I do or not. My question is: Are they able to do this for that many years back? Also, now I look inept to the trustee, for not listing this under my priority unsecured debt. My creditors meeting is set for early December. I would appreciate any help or info. I filed on my own - no attorney.

If they're going back to 2002, presumably they're alleging tax fraud? Or is this a late-filed return?

I suggest getting help from an accountant.
