    Default Bankruptcy After Divorce

My wife and I were recently divorced. In our decree it states that she is responsible for one of our credit cards. (we have been separated for several years and this is a card that she has maxed out) I contacted the credit card company to have my name removed from the account but they would not do it because of her credit rating. Now my ex-wife is planning on filing bankruptcy against this card. Will I be responsible for this debt and will the bankruptcy go against my credit?

You will want to assert your rights in her bankruptcy proceeding, as there is a substantial chance that her obligation to you in relation to the debt is not dischargeable. If it's a joint account, the credit card company will go after you (and would already be reporting any late payments or default on your credit report).
