Hi, I read through the forum for several hours but wasn't able to find the info I was looking for. Sorry in advance if this is repetitive.
Circumstances:
10yo daughter, her mother and I divorced just before her birth.
Ex is custodial parent and we have a reasonably civil relationship.
Ex is remarried, I'm recently engaged.
Have paid child support like clock work plus add'l $80,000 over the years.
Everyone is stable, employed, no issues.
My ex is now planning to move from Washington State to North Carolina in the next year to be near other family members. Current visitation is every other weekend, 4 hrs one weekday, alternating holidays, 2 weeks in summer. Our Washington State parenting plan only says that if one parent moves to an extent to make the plan unworkable we shall agree to a modification.
Now, I'd like to open a dialog with my ex prior to getting the attorneys involved. Get some rough ideas as to what we might work out for visitation schedule, transportation costs, and so on. Where can I find sample plans to consider for visitation and cost sharing? Searches online have proven fruitless.
Would consider 8 weeks in summer, alternate Thankgiving holiday, split winter break, alternate spring break holiday. Ex pays transportation? Split? Modify child support?
Just looking for ideas.
Thanks!
