    Default Marrying a U.S. Citizen

Hello i just want to know what are the process when your going to marry a US citizen. The guy is from MA and the girl is from the Philippines. Is it legal if they are going to be married in the Philippines?and how long would it take in order for the girl to be with her husband after marriage.Or is it much quicker if the guy would apply for a fiance visa and they get married in the states?Thank you and hoping for your quick response.

They can get married wherever they want. My guess is that it will be easier for them to get a K1 visa then marry in the U.S.

I would like to add this.
As Mr. Knowitall stated, it would be easiest to get the K1 visa for the bride from the Philippines to marry the US Citizen male in the US. Wait times vary, but 6 to 12 months lets say for example.

Marry in the Philippines, and the wait time, for whatever reason is longer. Websites say 12 to 18 months, but I have read even longer wait times.
It becomes a matter of your values, over your level of patience.

There is one explicit difference about marring in the US vs. the Philippines.
In the US, divorce is about as easy as washing your car.
In the Philippines, divorce does not exist. Once married, you are married for life.

Married for life. Hmm, quite a concept! You know, I have heard that many years ago, that was what it meant to be when you entered the sacrament of marriage. Even in the US, to be married meant for life.

So, I would suggest, that you place your emotional and religious values before your desire for the "quickest" way to complete the task of being married.

After all, if you TRUELY are planning a lifetime together, what is the value of the sacrament of marriage over the ease of divorce anyway?
For my wonderful wife and me, it was an easy choice. We will be together till death do us part, so, we choose the path that emulated our beliefs the best.

I wish for you and all, to find such happiness in the decision you’re faced with, as I once was. And that you also find such happiness in your choice, as I have.

WOW! And I only came here for some political answers to my questions! Not to climb on a soapbox and preach! Sorry if I became long winded!!
