Just to make sure that you do EVERYTHING for the family...
Who put down the deposit for the apartment you live in?
Who earns and pays the rent?
Whose name is the electric bill, water bill, phone bill in?
Who put down the deposit for those accounts?
Who shops for the groceries?
Where does that money come from?
Where did the living room furniture come from?
Where did your bedroom furniture come from?
Where did the pots, pans, dishes, sheets, towels, and toilet paper come from?
Who pays the bill for internet access?
When you can answer "ME!" to each of these items, you'll be ready to be emancipated. Emancipation is NOT about getting away from lousy parents, it IS about you having SHOWN that you are ALREADY taking care of yourself and want that you wish to enjoy the legal standing that goes along with such an elevated level of maturity. The court isn't interested in what you COULD do if you were out, they are interested in what you have ALREADY done to support yourself without parental involvement. Go get yourself an envelope. Every month, put in money for rent, utilities, groceries, health insurance, school expenses, and transportation expenses. If you can come up with ALL OF IT each month for 4 months, THEN you'll be ready to take your case before a court.
