Default Minor Charged With Being Unruly

    hello,

my name is drew. i am 17 and in my jr. year of highschool. i am 6 foot 3 inches and 220 pounds. I am very sarcastic and blunt. My parents dont like that. I understand that some people take things differently than others. I have never been arrested, caught drinking, doing drugs. i have had one citation for a car accident, so the only time ive even seen a police officer is because some idiot ran a red light.( i was turning left so it was my fault:-() Anyway, at times i get very upset... or anrgry with my parents ways that they have chosen to parent me. basically the approach that... if i know where he is at all times and i keep him close to me he will stay out of trouble and i can always know where he is" Friends arent allowed to come inside the house and my social life is dictated by them. my anger has scared my mother, causing her to go TOO FAR.
she feels that, my choice to lead a lifestyle where sarcasm and bluntness is a major part of my personality, is scary and that i will not succeed on my own once im 18. ok now on to the advice that i need.

One day, my mother came home and told me that she went to the courts and pressed charges on me for being unruly and that i was enrolled into the diversion program. my question is how can i have charges already filed and presed against me and be enrolled in this program when i have had no clue that this was even going on. everything was done without my knowledge and one day im in this program that i know nothing about and charges have been pressed without any court action being taken.

Is this legal????? can she just have an attorney sign on the dotted line and i have no say in the matter? although she thinks this is helping me i feel this is going to end up hurting me in the long run.
she has said that if i am "defiant"(she loves that word) one mroe time that she will call the police and i will be put in jail.

if you could give me some serious legal advice about my choices with housing and my options as a 17 year old.

i need help before it goes so far that i cant stop anything.

    thank you

Default Diversion Program for Unruly Conduct

It seems unlikely that any state would make a minor subject to a court-ordered diversion program without having the minor even appear in court. But I don't want to simply assume that your mother is lying to you. Perhaps the court will tell you if there is a file open under your name.

Ohio has no emancipation law. You would be considered emancipated in Ohio during any period you are on active duty service with the armed forces, or during marriage (although if either the active duty service or marriage ended before your 18th birthday, you would revert to being subject to your parents' authority.)
