Questions:

1. Would a law firm take a case to pursue legal action for damages for a work related accident?
2. Are laws too restrictive to seek damages for pain and suffering/medical care for injuries occurring at work?

NOTE: Currently, workman’s comp is taking care of the medical cost. One law firm told my cousin’s family it is too costly in Alabama to file charges against a business for injuries.

-- My cousin suffered 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree burns on his chest, back, and both arms. He required skin grafts, a 16 week stay in a burn unit, and is currently undergoing medical attention at home with home health technicians. He was told a year is expected for his recovery; more surgery necessary on his elbow and his voice is permanently changed due to his injury.

-- The injury occurred as a result of a welding accident at work
