Default Drowning in Debt in California

I have less than 20000 in debt & I have been making pmt arrangements with all. My problem is after they take out their monthly amt which are minimum pmts, but I count my pennies for gas/food(for 3 kids, no husband).

Many were high interest (30%) & threaten that if I miss a pmt it will go back to 30% (right now most have lowered to 15% & some even 0%). Some of these debts go back 9 years, but with such high interest in the past they never get lower. I have hardly anything left to live on & it is really out of hand. My groceries are practically bought at Dollar stores now. I can't buy the vitamins & expensive protein shakes for my son with muscular dystrophy.

I'm trying to figure out what to do - I have bad credit & can't get a loan.
I inherited 50% of a home, but the other co owner won't allow me to get an equity loan due to my financial nightmare (she's afraid they will come after her portion). I have thought of bankruptcy, but unsure if they could come after the house. I work in finance & consider taking the CPA in the future & I don't think bankruptcy looks nice to employers. I could sell my half but unable to pay any mortgage at this time. No help from government because I have no mortgage pmt & I'm barely above the salary amt for single w/ 3 kids. Any suggestions on what to do? I have tried to work with everyone, but I'm realizing I'm drowning & I desperatly need a new strategy. Thanks for the help.

I believe I would talk to a bankruptcy attorney re the possibility of filing bankruptcy. They will let you know if you can & if so, if that would be your best/only option. I don't know how much equity you have in the house.
