    Default Theft By Deception

This Is Such A Crazy Issue. Ok I Was At Hy-vee Shopping The Other Day......when I Was Approached By The Stores Manager And Their Security (not A Cop). Asking Me To Come With Them To Talk About An Issue In Their Office. I Was Dumbfounded As To What This Was Over.
Apparently It Was Over An Issue When I Was There The Previous Friday And Had Purchased A Bottle Of Liquor (valued At 47.99) Well I Get Home And The Seal On The Bottle Is Broken And I Immediately Take It Back To The Store For An Exchange.
The Reason That They Wanted To Talk To Me Last Time I Was There Was That They Claim That There Was Only Water In The Bottle And Not The Original Contents, And Are Accusing Me Of Doing This. The Cop Comes To The Store And Reviews The Situation And Says He Cant Charge Me With Shoplifting But With "theft By Deception" He Was Totally On My Side And Could Tell That He Really Didnt Even Want To Do This. I Have My Reciept For The Purchase And Everything, This Was Supposed To Be A Smooth Exchange Transaction And It Turns Into A "theft By Deception" Charge Which Is Beyond Me. I Have The Cleanest Record You Could Have And This Is My First Offense Of Anything.

Any And All Opinions To This Matter Would Be Appreciated. Thanks!!

This is in what state? What type of liquor was involved? (I'm curious as to the appearance of the bottle and contents.)
